MCC NEET UG 2026 Round 1 & 2 Resignation Window Open
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has reopened the resignation/seat withdrawal facility for NEET UG 2026 Round 1 and Round 2 Freeze/Float candidates. This decision comes after numerous requests from candidates who had previously accepted an allotted seat but now wish to resign or withdraw from it. This is a crucial opportunity for those who want to opt out of their current seat, though it comes with the forfeiture of the security deposit.
Candidates who are currently in a 'Freeze' status and wish to resign must physically report to their allotted institute to complete the resignation process. On the other hand, 'Float' candidates (who have not been upgraded) can resign or withdraw their Round 1 or Round 2 seat by logging into their MCC account and generating a Seat Withdrawal slip online. It is imperative to complete this online process, as failure to do so will render the resignation 'Null & Void'.
The resignation window is very short, starting from 03:30 P.M. on September 17, 2026, and closing at 06:00 P.M. on September 18, 2026. Any resignation submitted within this stipulated time will result in the forfeiture of the security deposit. Candidates are strongly advised to ensure that their Resignation Letter or Seat Withdrawal slip is generated online through the MCC portal. Once a seat is resigned or withdrawn, the candidate will have no further claim over that particular seat.
