NEET UG 2026 Counselling: Key Changes and Online Verification
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is set to begin applications for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 counselling on August 5. This year brings significant changes to the admission process for MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing seats under the All India Quota (AIQ), AIIMS, JIPMER, Central Universities, Deemed Universities, and other participating institutes.
The most notable update is the introduction of a new Freeze and Float system. This system allows candidates who are seeking an upgrade in their allotted seat to complete their document verification online, eliminating the need for physical reporting after every round. This streamlines the process, making it more convenient for students.
The counselling will continue to be conducted entirely online by MCC, spanning four rounds: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and the Stray Vacancy Round. Candidates must register on the MCC portal, carefully fill and lock their choices, and upload all required documents. It is crucial to follow the revised reporting rules precisely, as any errors could lead to the cancellation of seats or forfeiture of the security deposit.
Only candidates who have qualified NEET UG 2026 and meet the eligibility criteria set by the National Medical Commission (NMC) are eligible to participate. Registration on the MCC portal is mandatory, and multiple applications will result in cancellation of candidature. MCC counselling covers 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government medical and dental colleges, 100% seats in AIIMS, JIPMER, Deemed Universities, Central Universities (BHU, AMU, Delhi University), ESIC colleges, AFMC (registration only), and BSc Nursing seats in Central Institutes.

काउंसलिंग MCC द्वारा पूरी तरह से ऑनलाइन आयोजित की जाएगी, जिसमें चार दौर शामिल होंगे: राउंड 1, राउंड 2, राउंड 3 और स्ट्रे वैकेंसी राउंड। उम्मीदवारों को MCC पोर्टल पर पंजीकरण करना होगा, अपनी पसंद को सावधानीपूर्वक भरना और लॉक करना होगा, और सभी आवश्यक दस्तावेज अपलोड करने होंगे। संशोधित रिपोर्टिंग नियमों का सटीक रूप से पालन करना महत्वपूर्ण है, क्योंकि किसी भी त्रुटि से सीटों का रद्द होना या सुरक्षा जमा जब्त होना पड़ सकता है।
केवल वे उम्मीदवार जो NEET UG 2026 में उत्तीर्ण हुए हैं और राष्ट्रीय चिकित्सा आयोग (NMC) द्वारा निर्धारित पात्रता मानदंडों को पूरा करते हैं, वे ही भाग लेने के पात्र हैं। MCC पोर्टल पर पंजीकरण अनिवार्य है, और कई आवेदन करने पर उम्मीदवारी रद्द कर दी जाएगी। MCC काउंसलिंग में सरकारी मेडिकल और डेंटल कॉलेजों में 15% अखिल भारतीय कोटा (AIQ) सीटें, एम्स, जिपमर, डीम्ड विश्वविद्यालयों, केंद्रीय विश्वविद्यालयों (बीएचयू, एएमयू, दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय), ईएसआईसी कॉलेजों, एएफएमसी (केवल पंजीकरण), और केंद्रीय संस्थानों में बीएससी नर्सिंग सीटें शामिल हैं।
