NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 1 Registration Begins Today

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced the commencement of online registration for Round 1 of NEET UG Counselling 2026 starting today, August 5, 2026. This is a crucial step for all candidates who have qualified for NEET UG and are seeking admission to various medical courses across India.

Candidates have a limited window to complete their registration and fee payment, which will remain open until August 12, 2026, at 3 PM. Following registration, the choice filling process will be active from August 6 to August 13. It is essential for students to carefully select their preferred colleges and courses during this period. The choice-locking facility will be available between August 12 and August 13, allowing candidates to finalize their selections.

The seat allotment process for Round 1 is scheduled to take place from August 13 to August 16, with the results being declared on August 17, 2026. Successful candidates who are allotted seats must report to their respective institutes between August 18 and August 22. The participating institutes will then verify the data of joined candidates on August 23. To assist candidates, the Health Ministry has released step-by-step tutorial videos on the MCC portal, explaining the entire process from registration to seat allotment. Students are strongly advised to watch these videos to avoid common mistakes and ensure a smooth counselling experience.
