AIBE XXII Registration 2026 Begins Today

The Bar Council of India (BCI) has officially commenced the online registration process for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) XXII today, August 19, 2026. This is a crucial examination for all advocates who wish to obtain their Certificate of Practice (CoP) and legally practice law in India. The AIBE XXII exam is scheduled for November 29, 2026.

Candidates who have completed their 3-year or 5-year integrated LLB programs, or are in their final year/semester without any backlogs, are eligible to apply. Enrollment with a State Bar Council is generally required, but provisional enrollment is also accepted for up to two years. It's important to note that there are no age or attempt restrictions for this examination, making it accessible to a wide range of aspiring legal professionals.

The application process involves visiting the official AIBE website, completing the registration with personal and educational details, uploading necessary documents, and paying the application fee. Candidates who previously appeared for AIBE XX or XXI and did not clear it can use their existing login credentials to apply for AIBE XXII, streamlining the re-application process. Ensure all documents are in the correct format and submitted before the deadline of October 27, 2026.

Successful candidates will receive the Certificate of Practice, which is essential for practicing law in any Indian court or tribunal. The minimum passing percentage is 45% for General and OBC categories, and 40% for SC, ST, and Disabled candidates. This examination is a vital step for new law graduates to establish their legal careers.

Dates and figures are as published by the issuing body. Always confirm on the official portal before paying any fee.
