UGC NET December 2026 Application Process Begins
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially opened the online registration portal for the UGC-NET December 2026 examination. This is a crucial test for Indian nationals aiming for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor positions, or Ph.D. admissions in Indian universities and colleges. Candidates can apply for 87 subjects through the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
The application window started on October 8, 2026, and the last date to submit your online application and examination fee is October 28, 2026. If you miss this deadline, a late application window with a fee of Rs. 500/- will be available from October 29 to October 31, 2026. It is highly recommended to complete your application well before the final date to avoid any last-minute technical issues.
A correction window will be provided from November 2 to November 4, 2026, for applicants to make necessary changes to their forms. However, candidates are advised to fill in their particulars carefully as changes might be limited. The exam city announcement and admit card download dates will be intimated later on the official website. The examinations are scheduled to be held between December 14 and December 19, 2026.
Candidates must apply online only through the official NTA UGC-NET website. Ensure that the email address and mobile number provided are active and accessible, as all communication from NTA will be sent to these contacts. Only one application per candidate will be accepted, and strict adherence to the instructions in the Information Bulletin is mandatory to avoid disqualification.
