NTA Invites Applications for Observer Empanelment 2026
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an Expression of Interest (EoI) inviting online applications for the empanelment of Observers for its Computer-Based Test (CBT) and Pen and Paper Test (PPT) examinations. This initiative aims to create a standing, pre-verified pool of eligible individuals to monitor the fairness, security, and smooth conduct of national-level entrance and eligibility examinations like NEET (UG), JEE (Main), UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, and CUET (UG & PG).
The empanelment process seeks to reduce last-minute shortfalls in Observer deployment and ensure adequate lead time for briefing and travel arrangements. Empanelled Observers will be NTA's representatives at test centres, reporting directly to the agency on examination conduct. This is a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of NTA examinations across the country and overseas.
Applicants must be serving or retired academic and administrative staff from Government institutions, including Central and State Universities, Government Colleges, Polytechnics, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, and other Government schools. Retired officers from the Indian Armed Forces/Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) are also eligible. Successful candidates will be engaged on a contract basis for a period of 2 years. Remuneration for Observer duties includes ₹3,000/- for briefing meetings and ₹4,000/- on the day of the examination, which includes a fixed conveyance allowance.
