NTA Extends Application Deadline for Subject Matter Experts
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced an extension for the Expression of Interest (EoI) for the empanelment of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Initially, the deadline for submitting applications was 8th September 2026. However, through a corrigendum issued on 8th September 2026, NTA has extended this crucial date. Interested and eligible academicians, scientists, researchers, professionals, and educators now have until 9th October 2026 to submit their applications online.
This empanelment is for a period of three years, during which selected SMEs will contribute to various confidential academic works, including question paper setting, translation, vetting, and moderation for NTA's high-stakes examinations like JEE (Main), NEET (UG), UGC-NET, and CUET. All other terms and conditions, such as the scope of work, subject domains, eligibility criteria, and evaluation process, remain unchanged from the original EoI notification dated 10th August 2026. Applicants are strongly advised to regularly visit the official NTA website for any further updates regarding this empanelment process.
