SSC CPO 2026 Recruitment Notification Released
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the SSC CPO 2026 recruitment examination, inviting applications for Sub-Inspector (SI) positions in Delhi Police and various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). This is a significant opportunity for candidates aspiring to join the police and paramilitary forces. The application window is open until September 30, 2026, and interested candidates must apply online through the official SSC website, ssc.gov.in.
The recruitment drive includes Sub-Inspector (Executive) posts in Delhi Police, Sub-Inspector (General Duty) posts in CAPFs, and Sub-Inspector (Fire) positions in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Candidates have until October 1, 2026, to pay the application fee online. A correction window for applications will be available from October 8 to October 10, 2026. The date for the Computer-Based Examination (CBT) will be announced separately by the Commission. Changes in Exam Pattern
SSC has introduced notable changes to the SSC CPO 2026 examination pattern. Paper-I has been revised, reducing the number of questions from 200 to 100 and the duration from two hours to one hour. Each section in Paper-I will now have a sectional timer of 15 minutes. Paper-II has also undergone a major restructuring. Previously, it consisted of 200 questions solely from English Language and Comprehension. For 2026, Paper-II will cover four sections: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. This revised Paper-II will have 160 questions carrying a total of 320 marks.
