CSAB 2026 Refund Status Update
The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has released an important notice regarding the refund status for candidates who participated in JoSAA-SAF, CSAB-SREF, and DASA counselling for 2026. This update provides clarity on the processing timelines for various refund categories.
Candidates who withdrew, cancelled, exited, or did not report for JoSAA-SAF, as well as prepaid cases, have had their refunds processed by IIT Roorkee. For those in JoSAA-SAF without PAF and who did not participate in CSAB, refunds are expected by the end of October 2026. CSAB-SREF cases where no seats were allotted, or candidates withdrew/cancelled/exited/did not report, are being processed by CSAB itself.
Refunds for all categories under CSAB-SAF (JoSAA) and CSAB-PAF (JoSAA) are anticipated by the second week of October 2026. DASA candidates who did not secure seats or withdrew their applications can expect their refunds by the first week of October 2026. Those who did not report after the second round of DASA counselling should look for their refunds by the second week of October 2026.
It is crucial for candidates to note that cases with mismatches in account numbers or IFSC codes will take longer to process. These will be handled in two phases: first, by referring to the uploaded cancelled cheque, and if that fails, candidates will need to log in and correct their bank details. Candidates will be able to check their individual refund status using their login ID from the second week of October 2026, subject to data availability from the bank.
