CSBC Bihar Constable Waiting List Update
The Central Selection Board of Constables (CSBC) Bihar has issued an important notice regarding applications received from candidates who were placed below the merit list for Advertisement Number 01/2025. Many candidates had requested the preparation of a waiting list or reconsideration of their selection, especially those who could not secure a place in the final selection list due to tie-breaking rules based on date of birth.
CSBC clarified that according to Clause 6, Sub-clause (iii) and (iv) of the advertisement, in cases where two or more candidates obtain equal marks in the Physical Efficiency Test, their position in the merit list is determined by their date of birth. Older candidates are given preference. If both marks and date of birth are the same, academic qualification is considered. If still a tie, the alphabetical order of names on the 10th board certificate is used.
The notice further states that the recruitment process for Constables has been completed in accordance with the Bihar Police Handbook Rules, 1978, Volume-III, Appendix 103. This regulation does not include any provision for issuing a waiting list or a supplementary list. Therefore, the CSBC has declined the requests for a waiting list or reconsideration for candidates below the merit cutoff.
