PHANACON 2026: Punjab Private Hospitals Discuss Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana
Over 350 private hospitals from across Punjab recently participated in PHANACON 2026, an event organized by the Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (PHANA) Punjab in Ludhiana. The primary agenda was to discuss the challenges and opportunities related to the implementation of the Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana.
This conference served as a crucial platform, bringing together representatives from the State Health Agency (SHA), various insurance companies, third-party administrators (TPAs), and private hospitals. The discussions focused on critical operational aspects such as claim settlements, documentation requirements, pre-authorisation procedures, and other hurdles faced during the scheme's execution.
Senior officials, including Dr. Surinder Pal Kaur, Deputy CEO of the State Health Agency, along with delegates from United India Insurance and Medi Assist, were present. Hospital representatives voiced concerns regarding claim deductions, backlogs in queries, complex adjudication processes, and delays in settlements. In response, officials from SHA, insurance, and TPAs assured participants that all grievances would be thoroughly investigated and addressed.
PHANA acknowledged the government's continuous efforts to streamline payments and revise package rates under the scheme. They emphasized the importance of transparent claim-processing mechanisms and timely disbursements to ensure uninterrupted treatment for beneficiaries and the long-term sustainability of this vital healthcare initiative. The conference also explored future strategies for the Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana, including the potential integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to expedite claim processing, reduce administrative bottlenecks, and enhance overall system transparency. Organizers highlighted that regular dialogue among healthcare providers, regulators, and insurers is essential for strengthening healthcare delivery across Punjab.
