BPSSC Police Sub-Inspector Mains Result 2026 Declared
The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has officially released the results for the Mains Written Examination for the post of Police Sub-Inspector in the Home (Police) Department, Government of Bihar. This examination was conducted against Advertisement No. 05/2025 for 1799 vacancies.
The Mains examination was held on May 27, 2026, in two shifts. A total of 35,857 candidates, who were successful in the preliminary written examination, appeared for the Mains. The Mains exam consisted of two papers: Paper 1 (General Hindi) and Paper 2 (General Studies).
For Paper 1, a minimum of 30% marks was mandatory to qualify. Out of 34,302 candidates who appeared, 33,726 successfully achieved the minimum qualifying marks. In Paper 2, General Studies, 34,298 candidates participated. The answer sheets of 33,300 candidates were evaluated after disqualifications due to various reasons.
Based on the Mains written examination, six times the number of available vacancies have been selected for the Physical Eligibility/Efficiency Test (PET). A total of 32,645 candidates qualified the minimum marks in Paper 2. The selection for PET is merit-based and category-wise, following the prescribed recruitment process. Candidates who have qualified in the Mains exam are now eligible to appear for the next stage, the Physical Eligibility/Efficiency Test.
