PM-KISAN Scheme Extended Till 2030-31
The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the continuation of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme from the financial year 2026-27 to 2030-31. This extension comes with a substantial financial outlay of Rs 3.15 lakh crore, ensuring continued support for farmers across the country.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted that PM-KISAN is a flagship program providing financial assistance to farmers in line with the crop cycle. Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive an income support of Rs 2,000 three times a year. This timely support helps them procure essential agricultural inputs like seeds and fertilisers at the beginning of each crop cycle, particularly during the Kharif and Rabi sowing seasons.
Since its launch in February 2019, the PM-KISAN Scheme has been instrumental in providing transparent income support through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. This system ensures that the entire amount is transferred directly into farmers' bank accounts, promoting efficiency and accountability. The scheme has significantly reduced farmers' reliance on informal credit, with studies indicating that 85 per cent of beneficiaries have reduced their borrowing.
To date, more than Rs 4.47 lakh crore has been disbursed to farmers through 23 instalments. The 23rd instalment alone benefited over 9.49 crore farmers, with more than Rs 18,984 crore released. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the scheme provided crucial financial assistance of over Rs 1.71 lakh crore. Notably, women farmers have received more than Rs 1.06 lakh crore, accounting for nearly one-fourth of all beneficiaries. This ongoing support strengthens farmers' productive capacity and financial stability.

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता में केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने प्रधानमंत्री किसान सम्मान निधि (पीएम-किसान) योजना को वित्तीय वर्ष 2026-27 से 2030-31 तक जारी रखने की मंजूरी दे दी है। इस विस्तार के लिए 3.15 लाख करोड़ रुपये का महत्वपूर्ण वित्तीय परिव्यय स्वीकृत किया गया है, जिससे देश भर के किसानों को निरंतर सहायता सुनिश्चित होगी।
केंद्रीय मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव ने बताया कि पीएम-किसान एक प्रमुख कार्यक्रम है जो फसल चक्र के अनुरूप किसानों को वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान करता है। इस योजना के तहत, पात्र किसानों को साल में तीन बार 2,000 रुपये की आय सहायता मिलती है। यह समय पर मिलने वाली सहायता उन्हें प्रत्येक फसल चक्र की शुरुआत में, विशेष रूप से खरीफ और रबी बुवाई के मौसम के दौरान, बीज और उर्वरक जैसे आवश्यक कृषि इनपुट खरीदने में मदद करती है।
फरवरी 2019 में अपनी शुरुआत के बाद से, पीएम-किसान योजना प्रत्यक्ष लाभ हस्तांतरण (डीबीटी) प्रणाली के माध्यम से पारदर्शी आय सहायता प्रदान करने में महत्वपूर्ण रही है। यह प्रणाली सुनिश्चित करती है कि पूरी राशि सीधे किसानों के बैंक खातों में हस्तांतरित हो, जिससे दक्षता और जवाबदेही को बढ़ावा मिलता है। इस योजना ने किसानों की अनौपचारिक ऋण पर निर्भरता को काफी कम किया है, अध्ययनों से पता चला है कि 85 प्रतिशत लाभार्थियों ने अपनी उधारी कम की है।
अब तक, योजना के तहत 23 किस्तों के माध्यम से किसानों के बैंक खातों में 4.47 लाख करोड़ रुपये से अधिक सीधे हस्तांतरित किए गए हैं। केवल 23वीं किस्त में 9.49 करोड़ से अधिक किसानों को लाभ हुआ, जिसमें 18,984 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक जारी किए गए। कोविड-19 महामारी के दौरान, योजना ने किसानों को 1.71 लाख करोड़ रुपये से अधिक की महत्वपूर्ण वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान की। विशेष रूप से, महिला किसानों को 1.06 लाख करोड़ रुपये से अधिक प्राप्त हुए हैं, जो कुल लाभार्थियों का लगभग एक-चौथाई हैं। यह निरंतर समर्थन किसानों की उत्पादक क्षमता और वित्तीय स्थिरता को मजबूत करता है।
