The Bihar Post Matric Scholarship 2026-27 is now open for applications. This state scholarship supports students who have successfully passed their 10th Class and are continuing their studies at a recognized institution within Bihar. The scheme is managed by the Education Department, Government of Bihar, and aims to provide financial assistance to eligible students from Backward Classes (BC), Extremely Backward Classes (EBC), Scheduled Castes (SC), and Scheduled Tribes (ST) categories.
Applications for BC and EBC students are processed through the PMS online Bihar portal, while SC and ST students must apply on scstpmsonline.bihar.gov.in. It is crucial for all applicants to first generate an OTR (One Time Registration) number on nsp.gov.in before proceeding with their scholarship application. The scholarship covers tuition and other compulsory fees, along with a monthly maintenance allowance, both disbursed directly to the student's Aadhaar-seeded bank account via DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
A key requirement for BC and EBC students is that their annual family income from all sources must not exceed INR 3,00,000. There is no application fee for this scholarship. Applicants must ensure that their income certificate is issued on or after April 1, 2026, and both caste and income certificates must be issued at the Revenue Officer level. All academic documents should be dated between April 1, 2026, and March 31, 2027. Students are allowed up to three chances to correct any defects or rejections in their application, with each correction needing to be finalized within 15 days.
