UP Post-Matric Scholarship 2025-26: Portal Reopens September 1
The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the reopening of its scholarship portal on September 1, 2026. This initiative aims to benefit approximately 3.16 lakh students who missed out on the 2025-26 post-matric scholarships and fee reimbursements. Many students faced issues due to technical glitches or paperwork errors, preventing them from receiving their rightful scholarship amounts. The government's decision ensures that no deserving student is left behind due to such problems.
Social Welfare Minister Asim Arun emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring that financial or technical hurdles do not impede any student's education. The scholarship amount will be directly credited to the bank accounts of eligible students through the Public Financial Management System (PFMS). This direct transfer method, as stated by Sanjeev Singh, Director of the Social Welfare Department, will simplify the tracking of payments and ensure transparency. The scholarship money is scheduled to be transferred between September 29 and October 2, 2026.
This scholarship is open to students from all communities, including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, General Category, and minorities. The reopening of the portal provides a crucial second chance for students from government schools (around 31,836), aided schools (37,795), and private institutions (over 2,46,426) who were previously unable to avail the benefits.
